Discussion:
Has anyone bought one of those Panterra dirt bikes from Pep Boys?

I have been a road rider for more than 20 years. I'd like to get my 9 year
old boy in to the sport. I am considering purchasing (From Pep Boys) one of
those Panterra 125cc bikes for myself and one of the Panterra 50cc bikes for
the boy. I've done some googling and eBay searching to see what I can find
on these bikes, but the pickings are scarce. As near as I can tell
"Panterra" is one of the many names these Chinese bikes are sold under.

If anyone on this newsgroup has bought one of these bikes, I would like to
know your impression of them.

Thanks,

Dan K.

I know nothing about them but I wonder where you'd get it serviced?

XS, what's the deal with only allowing replies to your message to go to
sender?

As for who fixes them, look up the CBMMA

Yes, they are manufactured and assembled at Hensim in Chongqing China, branded
for PepBoys chain.

I've visited the factory there, and their quality control is quite good
by Chinese standards.

ya i just got one for my bday. im 14 and its perfect size for me. ive only
rode it twice and it has 20 miles on it. so far i love the thing. Its easy
to use and i only had 1 small problem with it. The owners manual has an
error, it tells you to put the fuel switch pointing to the left wen it
shuld actually be pointing to the right, this caused lots of frustration
wen i was first trying to start it. Anyway it handels well and goes pretty
fast. the shocks work very well and i love the electric starter. A quality
bike and a bargain for only 1k. The only flaw is that gas leaks out of it
pretty easily, the resevoir cap is not on very well or sumtin. i took a
few spills on it (its my first time riding) and gas was leakin out a whole
lot. I dont know if this is normal or not but i dont really care. Its
still a really fun bike

If it is on it's side, its pretty normal for a bike to leak gas.
